Welcome

A little about me - friends call me Hula and, to be completely honest, I'm just your average everyday regular Texas boy who loves creating wooden treasures in my humble shop located in Northeast Texas. I have been happily married to an incredible woman for over 20 years now, and yes, I do refer to myself as a "Professional Married Man" lol.  We have two daughters, one grandson, and two pups who think they run the house. 

I started my woodworking passion with heirloom boxes back in 2007 and, in 2018 I discovered the lathe. It felt like I found an old friend and have been hooked ever since. I love creating traditionally turned items for every day use as well as unique artistic pieces. I find myself not being a fan of production work so I like changing things up from time to time. Everything from a regular bowl to yarn bowls, to lidded finial boxes, to hollow forms, magic wands, and whatever else sparks my interest helps keep things fresh and exciting.
